Dimitri was a 2010 Graduate of Eddyville-Blakesburg. During His career there he was a 4 time state place winner. Coach Boyer placed 4th in the state as a freshman and sophomore and was a Two-Time state champion as a Junior and senior. Coach Boyer also participated in Football, Baseball, and Track in high school. After high school he continued his wrestling career at Coe college. At Coe Coach Boyer was a two-time national qualifier. As a senior he finished second in the nation earning All-American honors. Coach Boyer started his coaching Career at Iowa lakes Community College. In 2015 The Lakers finished 5th at the national duals.
