The EBF Boys wrestling team is off to a hot start as they head into the second ½ of the season. They are coming into the new year ranked #5 in the latest rankings with 5 individuals ranked in the top 8 of their respective weights. On the dual side of things, they are currently undefeated and have won a majority of their duals by large margins. They started the year off at the Wapello tournament, placing first over a very tough Wilton team. After a weekend of canceled events, the next tournament was a 2-day tournament at Fort Madison. The Rockets finished 3rd place only being beaten by the #1 and #2 teams in the state. Starting 2025 off with a bang, the Rockets finished first place at the Lettington Duals.
“We are improving every single day. The wrestlers’ heads are in great places. We are right where we need to be at this point in the year. We have lots of room to grow. As a coach I am very excited because we are already winning big matches. This group of wrestlers are never satisfied, always looking to improve and get better. The Best of the Rockets is yet to come.”
We will have our last scheduled home dual meet of the year on the 16th it will also be senior night. We have added another date to the schedule, we will travel to Williamsburg on January 21st. Williamsburg is the current #1 dual team in the state. The other date to look out for is February 4th. Thart is the day of the Regional duals location is to be determined. This is the qualifier for the state dual tournament in Coralville at Xtreme Arena February 8th.
